about melanie

I am a photographer. I am a painter. I have a wonderful family (my loving husband Paul and adorable daughter Audrey). I have a small addiction to dark chocolate and Project Runway. I never leave the house without at least one camera. I have a ridiculous collection of vintage cameras and use each one. I believe everyone has a little artist in them. I think breakfast can and should be eaten at any time of day. I enjoy a good microbrew. I am a huge baseball fan. Fridays are my favorite day of the week. But, most importantly, I love what I do.

about the business

First and foremost, I am an artist. Photography is my passion, my hobby and my career. I received a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University in photography and am classically trained as a fine art photographer. Despite my young age, I have a great deal of experience in the wedding and event field. In college I began interning for Elegant Bride and Modern Bride Magazines. I also have designed and decorated wedding cakes for several years. In addition,  I have been the event photographer and graphic designer for the American Liver Foundation and other various charities including Toys for Tots. My past client list includes:

  • Hispanic Choice Awards
  • Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
  • American Liver Foundation
  • Navy ROTC
  • Drexel University Fashion Department
  • Dime Magazine
  • South Jersey Magazine
  • Four24 (band)
  • Philadelphia International Airport
  • QVC
  • Cardinal Yachts

I have planned a wedding. I have been in your shoes and I understand how strenuous it can be to plan your special day. I want to make that part of your day easier. I work hard for my clients so that each moment is captured in a way that will be treasured forever. I believe that all photography should be fine art and you should not settle for anything less. For my own wedding, it killed me not be able to shoot the photos myself, but that didn’t stop me! Paul, my husband, and our witnesses, Ashley and Kirk, trekked out into the desert with our priest and photographer. Wearing my full wedding gown I also brought out my camera gear and insisted on taking photos. When I expect a certain level of work, I make sure I get it … Even if it means doing it myself. A perfect example is Ashley’s wedding. At 9 1/2 months pregnant and in the beginnings of labor, I still managed to shoot her wedding. Thankfully, Audrey was born 3 days later and not at the reception. What I’m trying to say, is that if I can shoot in the midst of labor, there isn’t anything I can’t handle.

I want you to expect no less than I did on my special day. We would love to be part of your event. If you’d like to meet up for coffee or a pint and discuss your event, please feel free to contact us and set up a meeting.

Congratulations!

Melanie
